Sublingual Misoprostol Before Intrauterine Contraceptive Device Insertion in Women With Previous Cesarean Delivery: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Abstract
Background: Cervical passage during intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD) insertion may be painful
or technically difficult in women whose previous births were by cesarean delivery. Misoprostol can soften
the cervix, but routine pretreatment remains controversial because benefits have been inconsistent and
systemic adverse effects are common.
