Background: Mucormycosis is a rapidly progressive and potentially fatal fungal infection that surged significantly during the post-COVID period, particularly among diabetic and immunocompromised individuals. This prospective interventional study evaluated 40 patients with confirmed invasive fungal sinusitis presenting with palatal involvement. Most patients were males above 50 years, with diabetes mellitus as the predominant predisposing factor. Common clinical manifestations included loosening of teeth, dental pain, palatal and gingival pustules, ulcers, bone exposure, facial pain, and swelling, supported by radiological evidence of maxillary and sinus involvement. All patients underwent surgical debridement along with systemic antifungal therapy, primarily liposomal amphotericin B, followed by prosthetic rehabilitation when required. Early diagnosis, timely surgical management, and appropriate antifungal treatment significantly improved outcomes, highlighting the importance of recognizing palatal involvement as a crucial indicator of invasive mucormycosis and initiating prompt multidisciplinary care to reduce morbidity and mortality.
