Background: Bipolar affective disorder (BPAD) is a chronic, recurrent psychiatric illness
associated with significant disability and psychosocial burden. Knowledge of the socio
demographic and clinical characteristics of affected individuals is essential for understanding
disease patterns and improving patient care, particularly in resource-limited settings
