SECURE WIRELESS NETWORKS: CRYPTOGRAPHIC DATA ENGINEERING FOR NEXT GEN APPLICATIONS
Vaghani Divyeshkumar, Chiyars Malhotra
Abstract
Wireless networks play a pivotal role in various critical fields, including military, security, healthcare, and manufacturing, yet they remain vulnerable to eavesdropping and impersonation due to their open signal transmission. This research explores the essential security needs of wireless communication, focusing on two primary aspects: maintaining information privacy (confidentiality) and verifying identities (authentication). The study traces the evolution of data security from historical methods, such as the Enigma machine used by the German army in World War II, to contemporary cryptographic techniques. We emphasize that confidentiality prevents unauthorized access to sensitive messages, while authentication ensures that recipients can verify the sender's identity, thus thwarting potential attacks. Furthermore, we investigate modern encryption methods, including the XOR method, and highlight the importance of secure key management to enhance data protection. By understanding both the strengths and vulnerabilities of current security systems, this research aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on improving wireless network security, ensuring that data remains protected against emerging threats.
