RP-HPLC Method Development and Validation for Simultaneous Estimation of Cefixime and Ofloxacin in Combined Tablet Formulations

Abstract

Cefixime and Ofloxacin are commonly prescribed in combination for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections, including respiratory and urinary tract infections. A precise, accurate, and reliable RP-HPLC method is essential for the quality control and routine analysis of such fixed-dose combinations. This study focuses on developing and validating an RP-HPLC method for the simultaneous estimation of Cefixime and Ofloxacin in combined tablet dosage forms. Using a C18 column and an optimized mobile phase, the method was validated as per ICH Q2 (R1) guidelines. The validated method was successfully applied to commercially available formulations, ensuring quality and consistency.
