The representation and artistic rendering of natural elements, especially birds, constitute a significant motif in the creations of literary and artistic figures. In the works of Manuchehri Damghani, this portrayal is distinctly more prominent and compelling than in those of other poets renowned for their illustrative prowess. As a result, literary scholars have consistently lauded him, recognizing him as the preeminent nature poet within the Persian literary tradition. The Divan of Manuchehri serves as a remarkably vivid and captivating tableau, wherein aspects of the natural world, including flora and avifauna, are intricately depicted and portrayed. Utilizing a library-based methodology, this study applies descriptive, interpretive, and explanatory approaches to investigate the factors contributing to Manuchehri Damghani’s acclaim and success in avian imagery. The findings indicate that Manuchehri skillfully employs impressionistic techniques, deliberate structural composition, and a keen focus on the five sensory dimensions in his portrayals, thereby securing his reputation as the most distinguished descriptive and nature-oriented poet in Persian literature.
