Abstract

Background: Supraglottic airway devices (SADs) are a cornerstone of modern anesthesia, providing an alternative to endotracheal intubation. Second-generation devices like the Proseal LMA (PLMA) and Supreme LMA (SLMA) were developed to offer improved airway seals and gastric access, enhancing safety.
