Abstract
Background: Cervical cancer remains a significant public health problem, particularly in developing
countries like India, where screening coverage is limited. The Papanicolaou (Pap) smear is an
effective and economical tool for early detection of epithelial abnormalities, thereby reducing disease
burden through timely intervention.
