Evaluating the Efficacy, Cost-Effectiveness, and Learning Curve of Robotic-Assisted and Computer-Navigated Total Knee Arthroplasty Compared with Traditional Jig-Based Methods: A Prospective Clinical Study
Dr. K. Jeevan Ravi, Dr. Chandrashekhar P., Dr. Banarji B.H., Dr. Akshay Shetty
Abstract
Background
Robotic assistance and computer navigation may improve component positioning in total
knee arthroplasty (TKA), but their clinical value depends on whether radiographic gains
justify additional operative time and expenditure.
Objective
To compare robotic-assisted TKA (RA-TKA), computer-navigated TKA (CN-TKA), and
conventional jig-based TKA (JIG-TKA) with respect to perioperative efficiency, short-term
clinical efficacy, mechanical-axis restoration, cost, complications, and the observed learning
curve.
Keywords
Robotic-Assisted Total Knee Arthroplasty, Computer Navigation, Mechanical Alignment, Cost-Effectiveness, Oxford Knee Score, Learning Curve.
