This paper explores the relationship between entropy, ego, and conscience formation in the Nigerian social context. Drawing from thermodynamics, psychology, and moral philosophy, it argues that the Nigerian system exhibits a form of moral entropy—a gradual disorganization of societal conscience caused by ego-driven governance, religious dogmatism, and the collapse of institutional integrity. Entropy is used not merely as a physical metaphor but as a psycho-social law describing the inevitable decline of order where self-interest dominates collective purpose. The study further considers how artificial intelligence (AI), properly integrated into education and governance, may act as a corrective force by enhancing systems of transparency, accountability, and ethical reflection.
