Background Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) accelerates debridement and promotes healing by providing a closed and moist wound healing environment and decreases wound volume, removes excess fluid that inhibits wound healing, helps remove interstitial fluid and promotes granulation. Aims & objectives To assess the effectiveness of low cost intermittent Negative Pressure Wound Therapy in sacral, ischial and lower limb ulcers, by using the measurements of length, width, area and circumference of the ulcer as provided by the "imitowound" app version 1.2, by the Bates Jensen wound assessment scoring and in patients with pain, by its effect on pain, as measured by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS).
