Abstract
This study aimed to assess the impact of parenting education based on attachment theory in alleviating attention deficit and academic burnout among students aged 8 to 14 in Amol County. A quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test assessments, including a control group, was used. The study population included elementary school students (grades one through six) in Amol during the 2023–2024 academic year. Thirty students were purposefully selected and randomly assigned to either the experimental group (15 students) or the control group (15 students). The data collection instruments were the Conners' Parent Rating Scale–Short Form for ADHD (1960) and the Academic Burnout Questionnaire by Pekrun (2002). The experimental group underwent a 10-session, 45-minute parenting program based on attachment-focused therapy models by Parnell (2004) and King and Newnham (2008). Data analysis was performed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) in SPSS version 25. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in post-test scores for attention deficit and academic burnout. The findings suggest that attachment-based parenting education can effectively reduce attention problems and academic burnout in students. Therefore, implementing such educational interventions is recommended to improve students' academic engagement and focus.
