Clinical outcomes and prognostic factors in adult medulloblastoma: A retrospective institutional analysis

Abstract

Medulloblastoma, a malignant embryonal tumor of the cerebellum, primarily affects children and is classified as a World Health Organization (WHO) grade IV neoplasm. It accounts for nearly 20% of all pediatric brain tumors, but its occurrence in adults is rare, constituting less than 1% of adult central nervous system (CNS) tumors[1]. Despite sharing histological features with the pediatric form, adult medulloblastoma exhibits distinct clinical behavior, prognosis, and therapeutic responses[2].
