Abstract

Aim: Assess microcurrent stimulation at auricular and Hegu points for gag reflex control. Method: Thirty patients were randomized into CV24, PC6, and placebo (LI10) groups; electroacupuncture was applied for 1 minute, and gag indices recorded. Results: CV24 and PC6 significantly reduced gag reflex; LI10 was ineffective. Conclusion: Microcurrent stimulation aids gag reflex control, with Hegu (PC6) more effective than auricular points.
