Assessment of Autonomic Functions in patients of Essential Tremor: Newer Insights from Patients and Their First-Degree Relatives

Abstract
Background: Essential tremor (ET) is one of the most common movement disorders and is increasingly recognized as a neurodegenerative condition with significant non-motor features. Autonomic dysfunction is an important but under-recognized component of ET. Given the strong familial predisposition, evaluation of autonomic function in unaffected first-degree relatives may help identify early or subclinical disease markers.
