Androgenetic Alopecia: Clinical Grading and Associated Metabolic Risk Factors - A Hospital-Based Case-Control Study

Abstract
Background Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the commonest form of patterned hair loss and has increasingly been linked to insulin resistance, dyslipidaemia, and the metabolic syndrome. The strength of this association in young Indian patients remains incompletely defined, and clinical severity has not been uniformly correlated with metabolic burden. The present study was undertaken to assess the prevalence and pattern of metabolic abnormalities in patients with AGA and to correlate them with clinical grade
