Hand anthropometry plays an important role in forensic identification, ergonomics, and anatomical studies. The present study was conducted to evaluate hand length among males and females and to determine the significance of gender differences in hand dimensions. A total of 400 participants were included in the study, comprising 200 males and 200 females. Hand length measurements were taken for both the right and left hands, and the data were analysed using descriptive statistics and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that males had greater mean hand lengths than females on both sides. In males, the mean hand length was 18.13 ± 0.99 cm for the right hand and 18.20 ± 0.97 cm for the left hand. In females, the mean hand length was 16.31 ± 0.59 cm for the right hand and 16.32 ± 0.82 cm for the left hand. Independent sample t-test analysis demonstrated highly significant differences between males and females for both right- and left-hand lengths, with t-values of 22.21 and 20.61, respectively, and p-values of 0.000. The study concluded that hand length is significantly greater in males compared to females. These findings may be useful in forensic science, ergonomics, clinical practice, and biometric identification.
