Abstract
Aim: The aim of the study is to evaluate the salivary IL-6 levels in oral leukoplakia and oral cancer patients and also to determine whether salivary IL-6 can be utilized as a potential salivary biomarker in early detection of potentially malignant lesions and progression of potentially malignant lesions to malignancy. Objectives: To assess the salivary interleukin 6 in oral leukoplakia, oral cancer patients and in normal healthy, age and sex matched controls. To compare salivary interleukin 6 levels in oral leukoplakia patients, in oral cancer patients and in normal healthy controls.
