Comparative study of Goghṛuta, Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose eye drop and ARC Glasses in Computer Vision Syndrome

Abstract

Computers are now an integral part of our day. The advancement in computer science has brought about a vast change in our lives that we can’t think of a computer-less life. In spite of benefits, user confronts new problems at their workplaces. Because of working long hours in front of a computer, vision and ophthalmic symptoms may develop. These have been collectively called Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). Artificial eye drops and Anti-reflection coating glasses are a contemporary line of treatment in CVS. But they have their own limitations. According to Ayurved, Goghṛuta has the quality of Snigdha and oiliness. It is smooth, lubricating, and nurturing. So, in the present clinical study, Goghṛuta Aschyotan was used in Computer Vision Syndrome. The main objective of this study was to find out a suitable preventive substance which has the ability to prevent progressive damage and cure the condition.
