Synthesis, Investigation of zinc sulfide thin film nanocomposite Application in solar cells

Abstract

The prospect of applying zinc sulfide thin films in nanoelectronics and optoelectronic devices has attracted increasing attention. For different applications, ZnS has outstanding physical and chemical properties.We have prepared zinc sulfide nanocomposite of different sizes out of zinc acetate and thioacetamide by a solid-state reaction at low temperatures. Preparation was carried out at room temperature. A variety of tests was conducted to characterize the particles, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM), energy dispersive (EDS), and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Zinc-blende particles showed pure crystallographic structures and were 25 nm in size, as determined by X-ray diffraction. The particle size was measured using anSEM micrograph at 28 nm in diameter. ZnS thin films are widely used in catalysis, solar cells, electroluminescence, fuel cells, and sensors (such as chemical sensors, biological sensors, humidity sensors, and light sensors).
