Focus and Scope
NeuroQuantology is an interdisciplinary journal that crosses the boundaries of neuroscience and physics. The rapidly accumulating empirical data in the neuroscience, cognitive science and technical domains will be made available to theorists in order to stimulate a synthesis or provoke new models. NeuroQuantology is published monthly.
Peer Review Process
Submitted manuscripts (original articles and brief reports) will be checked by the editor with respect to the aims, scope and formatting guidelines of NeuroQuantology.
If the manuscript meets the requirements the editor will sent the manuscript to (at least) two qualified referees for review. Reviewers are selected from a pool of experienced peers in the field of different research or associated academic fields.
The reviewers are typically mostly not blind regarding the authorship of the manuscript. On special request, blind review of the submitted manuscript can be offered.
The editor's decision to accept or reject a paper, based on referees' comments is final.
Invited Essays, Invited Commentary, Book/Media Reviews, Conference Abstracts and Editorial will be published by editor's decision alone, no peer review process is applied.
Final decision
The journal editor or editorial board considers the feedback provided by the peer reviewers and arrives at a decision. The following are the most common decisions that are made:
*accept without any changes (acceptance): the journal will publish the paper in its original form
*accept with minor revisions (acceptance): the journal will publish the paper and asks the author to make small corrections
*accept after major revisions (conditional acceptance ): the journal will publish the paper provided the authors make the changes suggested by the reviewers and/or editors
*revise and resubmit (conditional rejection): the journal is willing to reconsider the paper in another round of decision making after the authors make major changes
*reject the paper (outright rejection): the journal will not publish the paper or reconsider it even if the authors make major revisions
